i aint a doll

i tried to be a picture perfect girl
but you were in your own fantasy world
tryna control me
like some kind of barbie
but that just aint me

cuz i aint a doll
this aint a dollhouse
your way too old to be
putting me down like this

and playing around like this

  1. Britt,

I just wanted to take a moment and comment on your blog and your poem. This poem is really moving and speaks to me.

You should never be a doll, or feel as though you have to live up to the expectations of anyone other than yourself. Let you beauty shine from within you and everything else will take care of itself. I know it's hard to believe because society wants us to believe that it's all in our appearance but it's not. The greatest things in life aren't things, and all the greatest elements of the world are free.

Thanks again for the fantastic poem. Keep up the inspiring work.
